Remembering Mert

Montie Schumacher or lovingly referred to as Mert was a valued member of the Sullivan Supply Illinois team for the last 12 years helping her son Brad sell show supplies over the summer. She will be missed by many including the kids whom she loved seeing. After marriage to Gary, she lived on the family farm in Varna, where they worked alongside each other for 54 years. She enjoyed spring planting, fall harvest, and raising cattle and hogs. Her favorite time of the year was spring calving season and the birth of newborn calves. Montie never missed a cattle show or sale.
She especially enjoyed talking to people and selling show supplies from the “Sullivan” trailer with her son, Brad. Her greatest joy was watching her grandson, Tyler, exhibit cattle.
